Requirements
Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program (for Engineer Grade 7)
Two or more years of related engineering experience or completion of a qualified student co-op/internship program (for Engineer Grade 7)
Master's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program may allow entry at Engineer Grade 7 level
Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program plus 4 or more years of related engineering experience (for Engineer Sr. Grade 8)
Responsibilities
Perform intermediate level engineering work activities and projects using engineering knowledge safely, effectively, efficiently, and economically
Apply theory and analytical techniques to solve diverse problems and complete extensive analysis of moderate complexity
Demonstrate competency in analytical techniques, understanding interrelationships between systems and equipment, and recommend business process enhancements
Coordinate work activities of others within work group, department, or corporate entity to complete routine activities
Perform routine engineering activities with minimum direction from higher-level employees, following company policies, standards, rules, and external regulations
Provide training and guidance to lower-level employees
Coordinate development of input for forecasting costs on routine projects and improvements; use scheduling techniques (e.g., CPM, PERT, flow charts) for budgeting and planning
Initiate corrective action when project objectives are not met
Resolve and initiate solutions to routine problems, identifying issues beyond normal routine and seeking new opportunities
Develop, review, or present technical reports (e.g., improvement requisitions, studies, analyses) clearly and concisely
Act as an active team member, network with peers inside and outside the organization, identify stakeholders, resolve conflicts, and build consensus
Make decisions subject to review within policies and procedures, affecting team work, while aware of risks and extrapolating beyond known facts
