Requirements

Advanced degree in medicine (MD) or equivalent, with expertise in clinical development and research
Experience as a clinical lead or study responsible physician on early development programs and trials (Phase 1 through Proof of Concept)
Strong background in immunology, translational medicine, and experimental medicine
Ability to create and implement translational plans aligned with therapeutic area, disease area, and pathway strategies
Leadership skills to lead cross-functional clinical trial teams and deliver trials end-to-end (protocol design, execution, monitoring, analysis, interpretation, and communication of results)
Deep engagement with investigators, external experts, and partnership with translational science teams
Willingness to work in Spring House, PA, La Jolla, CA, or Cambridge, MA

Responsibilities

Serve as a program and experimental medicine leader in the Immunology Translational Science and Medicine (TSM) function
Accelerate the Immunology pipeline from portfolio entry to Proof-of-Concept (PoC)
Function as clinical lead/study responsible physician on early development programs and trials (Phase 1, including focused experimental medicine studies, through PoC)
Create translational plans for programs aligned with overall TA strategy, disease area, and/or pathway strategies
Lead cross-functional clinical trial teams to deliver major execution milestones within governance-approved timelines and budgets
Oversee end-to-end clinical trials: initial protocol design, monitoring, problem-solving, analysis, interpretation, and communication of study results
Partner with translational science teams and engage deeply with investigators and external experts
Contribute to the Translational Medicine Program Lead group to create and implement innovative translational plans for portfolio assets
