Requirements
Candidates should possess 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 6 years in a technical leadership or management role, and 3+ years of experience managing other managers. They should demonstrate success in building and leading teams responsible for large-scale data platforms and infrastructure, along with strong expertise in distributed systems, data infrastructure, modern data technologies such as Kafka, Spark, and BigQuery, and cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure. A solid understanding of data governance, privacy, and compliance principles is also required.
Responsibilities
As the Director of Engineering, Data Platform, you will lead the strategic vision and technical roadmap for the Data Platform function, working with leads, the broader Data+ML org, and executive partners across the company. You will build and lead a high-performing engineering team, providing mentorship and fostering a culture of collaboration and curiosity. Furthermore, you will drive technical excellence and innovation, championing best practices, collaborating with Core Technology, Product Engineering, and ML Platform teams, and leveraging technical expertise to continually improve the team and ensure Data Platform achieves extraordinary results.
