Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) - Board of Nursing with an active license in the state of practice (Upon Hire)
  • 4-6 years RN experience
  • Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds
  • Ability to work the specified hours (Day Shift, Full time)

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure services are provided safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively, enhancing patient, staff, and physician satisfaction
  • Facilitate staff and resources to reinforce Avera’s vision
  • Cultivate relationships across functions and departments at local facility, region, and system levels
  • Develop short- and long-range plans for the department, community, and health system
  • Establish benchmark goals, develop data analysis, set thresholds, and create action plans to address variances
  • Manage department and hospital resources for effective outcomes using minimum resources
  • Develop positive relationships with customers (physicians, patients, families, referral sources) to promote Avera’s referral base
  • Utilize teamwork to achieve objectives and improve operations within the department, hospital, and Avera
  • Maintain knowledge of Medicare reimbursement principles, applicable laws and regulations; review and update departmental policies
  • Support Avera’s strategic goals and develop departmental goals accordingly
  • Interview, hire, develop, train, and retain employees; plan, assign, and lead work; appraise performance; reward and coach employees; address complaints and resolve problems
  • Accountable for department success through sound decision making, fiscal planning, maintaining staff levels, monitoring competency, and quality of services
