Requirements

  • College graduate preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience
  • At least 8 years of previous facilities management and supervisory experience, preferably within the student housing or a similar multi-family sector
  • Demonstrated knowledge working with both vertical and horizontal buildings and high-rise boiler and chiller systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel at least 50% in a year
  • Flexible, thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable with quickly re-prioritizing
  • Values and fosters a respectful, collaborative, and supportive approach to a diverse working and living environment
  • Committed to excellence and high standards
  • Eligible to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship)

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and development opportunities to the Facilities team
  • Creates and maintains appropriate training and development to establish career paths in collaboration with other applicable departments
  • Develops and maintains the ongoing administration of a preventative and predictive maintenance program
  • Assures adherence to OSHA standards, federal, state and local laws and applicable company policies and procedures
  • Develops, implements, and monitors the effectiveness of maintenance programs. Accountable for maximizing revenue, controlling expenses, and improving resident satisfaction
  • Provides technical expertise and develops training programs for facilities and maintenance personnel in areas such as mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems, plumbing, general construction, elevators, pools, fire & life/safety equipment, building automation systems and other pertinent building systems
  • Establishes safety processes in compliance with OSHA standards and other applicable laws
  • Assists property management and on-site personnel with the implementation of various operational programs including but not limited to training, demand side energy conservation, preventative maintenance, workflow direction, and vendor management
  • Provides technical expertise and develops scopes of work for assigned capital projects
  • Facilitates and conducts annual inspections and assessments to identify conditions, needs and budget expectations
