Requirements

  • Senior leadership experience in enterprise tax, capable of setting strategy and execution plans for global tax functions
  • Expertise in corporate tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions (over 10 countries), including corporate income tax, VAT/GST, employment tax, pension tax, withholding tax, and transfer pricing
  • Strong knowledge of global tax developments, evolving legislation, and international tax impacting pension plans
  • Proven ability to build, mentor, and retain high-performing global tax teams with technical, operational, and leadership skills
  • Experience leading tax planning initiatives (e.g., entity rationalization, international offices)
  • Proficiency in leveraging technology (e.g., ERP, tax engines, workflow automation) for tax compliance processes
  • Skills in managing tax disputes, audits, and interactions with tax authorities, auditors, and external counsel
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional leaders (Corporate Affairs, People and Culture, Finance) and external partners

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Managing Director, Taxation to shape and implement global tax compliance and dispute management strategy
  • Build, mentor, and retain a high-performing global tax team, overseeing budgeting, resourcing, and performance management
  • Lead enterprise-wide tax planning initiatives, such as entity rationalization and international offices
  • Champion ethical compliance, continuous learning, and knowledge sharing across the organization
  • Monitor and interpret global tax developments, assess regulatory impacts, and provide recommendations to leadership
  • Assume accountability for compliance with all direct and indirect tax obligations across jurisdictions, including preparation, review, and filing of returns
  • Oversee design, implementation, and improvement of tax compliance processes, including quality assurance and documentation
  • Proactively manage tax impacts from new business initiatives or regulatory changes, coordinating with finance, HR, legal, and operations
  • Represent the organization in interactions with tax authorities, auditors, and regulators during audits, reviews, and investigations
  • Develop protocols for audit readiness, dispute management, and resolution, including post-mortems for process improvements
  • Manage relationships with external advisors, tax authorities, and peer networks
