Requirements

15+ years of experience in software development in product companies
7+ years of recent experience in building reliable, available, scalable and performant DB infrastructure components in SaaS applications
Hands-on experience in database administration and performance tuning
Deep understanding of design principles and design patterns in building SaaS applications to work with data and processing data at scale
Willing to be hands-on with coding, design and architecture
Forward-thinking and ability to develop a long-term strategy for infrastructure development aligned with business goals
Keen business sense and demonstrated ability to partner to work with multiple stakeholders and deliver business results
Understanding of financial management in the context of FinOps to optimize costs and resource allocation
Expertise in databases, with a focus on MS SQL, Postgres, Document DB and other NoSQL databases
Experience leading database migrations

Responsibilities

Lead Zenoti's DB infrastructure team to enhance/build world-class DB infrastructure for the Zenoti product
Be a great manager, team builder, recruiter, communicator and issue resolver
Ensure everyone in the team is successful and bring transparency to the process
Manage the technical and architectural evolution of Zenoti database supporting customer onboarding infrastructure and product functionality
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product and operations, to deliver high-quality, reliable and scalable software solutions
Build cloud-based scalable solutions that run at optimal costs
Develop and execute strategies for improving system performance, scalability, and reliability
Lead DB migrations between different RDBMS systems (MS SQL, Postgres)
Ensure best practices in software architecture, cloud infrastructure, and data security are adhered to
Provide mentorship and guidance to the engineering team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth
Own end-to-end delivery of key projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives
Lead and build the engineering team, driving innovation, efficiency, and excellence in software development practices
Recognize and reward employees to ensure they are unblocked to deliver on the roadmap
Identify and mitigate potential risks related to infrastructure development and deployment
