Requirements
- Completion of a Bachelor's of Science degree in Foods and Nutrition which meets the standards established by the American Dietetic Association
- One year acute clinical hospital experience preferred
- Must be a Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) or obtain registration within six months of hire date required
- Licensed as a Dietitian in the state of South Dakota required; if not yet licensed, may work under a temp nutritionist permit up to one year
- Flexible schedules to cover all shifts and weekends, as hospital needs demand
Responsibilities
- Performs medical nutrition therapy according to protocols and system policies
- Conducts nutrition screening, assessment, development of care plans, and follow-up monitoring and reassessment of patients identified at nutrition risk
- Provides patient and family education according to assessed learning needs
- Develops, implements, and promotes quality services based on client expectations and needs
