Requirements

  • Minimum 6 months to 1 year of previous experience in entry level Mechanical Maintenance
  • Minimum 1 year basic mechanical or maintenance work experience
  • 6 months work history with 1 employer within the last 2 years
  • Minimum 1 year experience operating cutting torch and electric welder
  • Current valid State driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Must supply own tools
  • Ability to use basic electrical, pneumatic, and hand tools
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders up to 20 feet
  • Ability to bend, stretch, reach, and work in extreme hot, cold, inclement weather, and odors
  • Ability to read and understand assignments
  • Ability to communicate both orally and in writing

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and promote the Tyson safety culture
  • Receive training as required
  • Perform various positions as required/assigned
  • Perform maintenance and preventative maintenance on trucks and trailers
  • Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to Tyson policies and procedures
  • Perform PM on equipment, oil changes, greasing
  • Repair or replace semi tires
  • Perform brake repair or replacement on semi-trucks and trailers
  • May perform air brake, electrical, and air conditioning work
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
