Requirements

Mindset to treat the Design System as a full product with vision, clear strategy, and solid governance
Ability to pilot adoption, anticipate large-scale uses, and address Design and Tech challenges
Knowledge of technical integration issues on the development side for tactical decisions and simple delivery/deployment
Mastery of Agile project management methods to adapt and enable continuous evolution of the Design System

Responsibilities

Establish rituals for adoption and enrichment of the Design System (e.g., governance rituals, office hours, feedback sessions)
Align stakeholders (Product, Tech, Design, business) on the strategy and direction via regular communication sessions and roadmap integration
Respond to needs of user and contributor teams by centralizing requests and adapting the Design System for designers, developers, PMs, etc
Foster collaboration around the Design System to make it a living, co-created product with transparent exchanges
Frame strategic decisions aligned with business priorities and other product teams, managing and prioritizing initiatives
Carry and communicate the Design System vision effectively using strategic arguments to convince and align teams
Define the Design System roadmap linked to product challenges and company strategic priorities, prioritizing short- and long-term impacts
Promote usage and best practices through trainings, workshops, and sharing to ensure smooth, scalable adoption
Implement tracking tools to measure impact and adoption using performance indicators and qualitative data
