Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology (required)
  • Strong Powertrain technical fundamentals (required)
  • 7+ years of experience managing complex multi-disciplinary engineering projects, with evidence of success bringing programs to life from concept to production (required)
  • Experience with common project/program management tools (required)
  • Proven ability to work in a cross-functional environment with colleagues from purchasing, manufacturing, etc. (required)
  • Strong interpersonal skills including accountability, self-motivation, problem solving, analytical thinking, succinct communication and ability to develop & mutually thrive in working relationships (required)
  • Experience with design release of Powertrain components and systems (preferred)
  • Experience with internal combustion engine controls and calibration (preferred)
  • Minimum of High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required for all roles at Scout Motors, Inc

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for system engineering for the Harvester gasoline engine underpinning the Scout Traveler SUV and Terra pickup
  • Coordinate component designs, builds and testing to meet both Scout and supplier milestones
  • Identify risks and escalate to leadership where appropriate to raise awareness and drive action
  • Track and report engine imperatives including system cost, mass, and investment
  • Effectively coordinate engine hardware, software and calibration for all phases from prototype development to production
  • Provide technical feedback to concept architects, designers, test engineers and calibration teams
  • Act as the engine single point contact for various partners and suppliers
  • Based out of the Scout Motors location in Novi, Michigan, with 4-5 days attendance in office with in-person meetings and events regularly, and ability to travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time
