Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent knowledge through professional expertise
  • Deep technical knowledge in materials, mechanics, and manufacturing processes
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional SMEs and leverage APQP for design validation and issue resolution
  • Accountability for personal technical performance
  • Knowledge of supporting complex, full-lifecycle product development across multiple platforms
  • Experience driving cross-functional collaboration with global teams for design validation and product launches
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma methodologies and Design Verification Plans (DVP&R)
  • Knowledge of collaborating with suppliers to optimize designs for manufacturability, focusing on Team Feasibility Commitments
  • Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams including procurement, production, and quality assurance

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain rubber component solutions and associate test methods to meet product requirements
  • Create and maintain test fixtures, manage local test benches, and interpret test results, including spare parts upkeep
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and customers regarding rubber component performance and maintenance needs
  • Inspect field-returned rubber components and assist in root cause analysis for failures
  • Validate component performance through physical testing, simulation support, and on-machine measurement definition
  • Support NPI, CPI, BIQ, and Assurance of Supply projects by executing performance tests and reporting results
  • Collaborate with process partners and manufacturing facilities to improve material quality and component reliability
  • Ensure timely completion of assigned projects and deliverables in alignment with ICD goals
