Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil/Structural) from an ABET-accredited institution (or international equivalent)
- 10-15 years of experience preferred; all levels considered, with nuclear industry experience highly desired
- Possession of Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain highly desired
- Knowledge of AISC and ACI Codes
- Sound research, analytical, and technical abilities
- Ability to work independently in leadership and mentoring roles with little supervisory involvement
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent interpersonal skills and strong analytical ability
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including ability to make technical presentations to all levels of management
- Ability to work extended hours, shift schedules, and perform on-call duties
- Able to deliver quality and accurate work within established deadlines
- Must reside within site-specific Emergency Response Organization response time
- Familiarity with Nuclear Power Plant Design, licensing basis documents, and maintenance processes (plus)
Responsibilities
- Prepare engineering change packages for modifications to the station, including design drawings, vendor drawings, specifications, and other applicable documents
- Maintain civil and structural calculations up to date
- Assist in developing solutions to engineering technical issues in support of plant operation and maintenance
- Prepare technical reports and presentations on engineering technical issues as needed
- Support problem identification and resolution using the Corrective Action Program
- Perform walkdowns for monitoring of plant structures
- Ensure changes to the design requirements are identified, documented, controlled, evaluated, and approved
- Manage and complete assigned activities to support timely implementation for required plant operations
- Maintain the plant design and licensing basis complying with industry standards and regulations
- Participate in Problem Solving and Decision-Making teams, troubleshooting efforts, and developing repair strategies for plant equipment as necessary
- Support the Emergency Response Organization
