Candidates should have over 7 years of experience in a quantitative role, ideally as a founding data scientist, researcher, or product analyst. They must have defined and operationalized new feature and product-level metrics from scratch, particularly in areas related to AI policy or social science. Strong strategic insights beyond statistical significance testing are required, along with excellent communication skills to engage with product managers, engineers, researchers, and executives.
The Data Scientist will embed within the product policy team, focusing on applying data insights throughout the policy development lifecycle. They will assess policy priorities using internal data, collaborate cross-functionally to coordinate research and insights, and establish a data-driven policy development culture by defining and tracking policy success metrics. Additionally, they will develop dashboards and reports to facilitate answering policy data questions.
