Position Overview

Cars Commerce is seeking a Data Scientist III to join our dynamic data science team. This team is instrumental in enhancing the customer shopping experience, optimizing sales and marketing pipelines, and developing robust measurement strategies. You will be a key contributor to our machine learning products, impacting millions of users across our website and mobile app.

Data Science @ Cars is a collaborative group of individuals with diverse backgrounds, actively engaged with the open-source community and Data Science events. We foster a learning environment through regular algorithmic and code reviews, and maintain connections via virtual coffee chats.

About the Projects

We develop and deploy scalable Machine Learning (ML) products that serve millions of users. Our work includes projects in Search, Recommendation Systems, Pricing, and Churn prediction. From the outset, team members will own specific products, with opportunities to gain exposure to various ML domains over time. The team balances research initiatives with immediate project deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to define, design, build, and deploy machine learning models.
  • Frame and analyze A/B tests to evaluate model performance and impact.
  • Understand the business impact of models and continuously monitor their performance to ensure high-quality outputs.
  • Apply robust and maintainable coding practices for reliable and efficient model delivery.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to identify business opportunities and emerging trends.
  • Communicate modeling methodologies and analytical findings clearly to business stakeholders.
  • Stay current with the latest technology trends and contribute to research publications in science and innovation.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of professional experience in developing machine learning models.
  • Master's degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Machine Learning, Applied Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Solid understanding of supervised and unsupervised machine learning concepts.
  • Experience with the end-to-end pipeline for deploying machine learning algorithms, including development, validation, implementation, and production.
