Candidates must possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics, or have equivalent experience. A minimum of 4 years of experience in data science, analytics, or machine learning, ideally within a subscription-based or digital consumer business, is required. Proficiency in SQL and either Python or R is essential, along with demonstrated experience in building and deploying predictive models for churn, conversion, or engagement scoring. Experience in designing and interpreting experiments (A/B and multivariate) with a solid understanding of causal inference is necessary. Familiarity with CRM tools and marketing attribution frameworks, strong communication skills for translating complex data into business recommendations, and the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment are also required. A passion for data analysis and strategic application is preferred.
The Data Scientist will lead predictive modeling efforts to drive subscription business growth, focusing on enhancing subscriber engagement, reducing churn, and identifying new growth opportunities. This role involves designing and owning data science solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, CRM, Marketing, Design, Finance) to deliver actionable insights and scalable models. Key responsibilities include designing, building, and refining predictive models using statistical and machine learning techniques, conducting deep-dive analyses on acquisition, onboarding, engagement, and churn, and developing segmentation frameworks for targeted strategies. The Data Scientist will also architect and evaluate A/B and multivariate tests, partner with engineering to improve data collection and pipeline reliability, automate reporting, build dashboards, and lead performance reviews. Additionally, they will drive audience research and cohort analyses, advocate for data-informed decision-making across the organization, and stay current with industry trends and best practices.
