Requirements

A university degree or college diploma in a technical, vocational, or academic program, preferably in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or Computer Science, or equivalent work experience is required. Candidates must have 4+ years of experience with SQL, 2+ years of experience with dbt, and experience with a cloud data warehouse such as Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery. Proficiency with a BI Tool for creating data visualizations, experience turning data into actionable insights, and building analytical data models are essential. The ability to communicate efficiently with stakeholders, both verbally and in writing, is also a requirement. Experience working as part of a data team, a background in Statistics, experience with data consumers, an Agile environment, Python, prompt engineering, and prior insurance domain knowledge are considered nice to have.

Responsibilities

The Data Analyst will collaborate with project stakeholders and the data team to design and build scalable, user-friendly systems. Responsibilities include building and testing data models using SQL and dbt, exposing high-quality, documented data sets to end users through a BI tool, and debugging data quality issues. The role involves working with stakeholders such as Product Managers, Product Analysts, and Developers to support them with ad hoc analyses, following proper data architecture and development paradigms, and discussing strategy and outlining tradeoffs of potential software solutions. Additionally, the Data Analyst will perform data analysis to support external teams and participate in Scrum ceremonies.
