Requirements

Proven hands-on experience as a Performance Test Engineer with specific expertise in Apache JMeter (minimum 3-5+ years)
Strong understanding of performance testing methodologies, best practices, and the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC)
Experience working in Agile teams (preferred)
Expertise in scripting languages such as Groovy, Python, or Java for enhancing and customizing test scripts
Solid knowledge of web protocols (HTTP, HTTPS), web technologies, and database performance
Experience with application performance monitoring (APM) tools (e.g., Grafana, AppDynamics, Dynatrace)
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
Strong communication and collaborative abilities
Familiarity with test automation frameworks and tools
Ability to analyze and interpret performance test results
Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes (e.g., Jenkins)

Responsibilities

Collaborate with stakeholders to define performance testing objectives, acceptance criteria, and comprehensive strategies
Design, develop, and maintain performance test scripts using Apache JMeter for web applications, APIs (REST/SOAP), and other services
Execute various types of performance tests, including load, stress, scalability, and endurance tests
Analyze test results to identify performance issues, bottlenecks (e.g., CPU, memory, database), and system failures; generate detailed reports for technical and non-technical audiences
Work with cross-functional teams (development, DevOps, QA) to investigate root causes of performance issues and recommend optimization strategies
Integrate performance tests into the CI/CD pipeline using tools like Jenkins
Utilize monitoring and profiling tools to gather metrics and correlate system performance with infrastructure metrics
Configure and maintain realistic test environments that simulate production conditions
