Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, project/construction management, or a related field
  • 10+ years’ experience in project controls, cost control, or a similar role
  • Strong knowledge and proficiency in project management methodologies, schedule and cost control tools, and software
  • Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office and SAP
  • Experience in Contruent or similar cost management platforms (preferred)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work as part of a fast-paced team
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Physical: Standing or sitting for long periods; able to lift up to 15 pounds; extended hours in front of a computer
  • Cognitive: Problem-solving, written and verbal communication skills; computer and software skills; ability to read and interpret text

Responsibilities

  • Perform project financial planning, administration, and forecasting for a large capital manufacturing project
  • Produce periodic budgets and reports, such as project performance against projections
  • Present analysis to stakeholders, including executives
  • Analyze accruals, invoices, variances, and cost accounting for materials and labor
  • Develop and implement standard cost processes and practices to ensure projects are within approved budgets
  • Collaborate with the project team to transition the project estimate into a cost control budget aligned with the client’s standard breakdown structure
  • Work with the project scheduler to integrate cost and schedule
  • Use EVM from the schedule to determine percent completed by CBS
  • Assist the project manager in financial analysis, budgeting, and reporting, including monthly reports
  • Report on productivity and cost-tracking metrics
  • Lead or participate in cost review meetings with the project manager and team
  • Complete ad-hoc analysis to gauge financial impact of project actions
  • Validate change orders and inform project manager of status and impacts
  • Confirm contractor progress billings represent field progress
  • Provide weekly project cost reports, including variance analyses and explanations of significant cost drivers
  • Deliver cost, time, labor forecasts, equipment and material projections, and productivity trend reporting
  • Assist in project closeout and validating final costs for client’s historical database
