Requirements
Juris Doctor degree
Admission to the Bar of at least one state (preferably MN)
Must be able to lawfully work within the US and have unrestricted work authorization
Responsibilities
Advise on all types of employment law matters (with primary focus on US law) including, but not limited to recruiting and hiring practices, wage and hour and pay equity issues, performance management, employee discipline, internal investigations, leave and accommodation requests, disability related issues, employee terminations, discrimination and harassment complaints, interpreting and applying employment policies and statutory regulations, and negotiating and preparing employment-related agreements
Manage employment related claims in all stages including internal investigation, pre-litigation, judicial, and administrative proceedings, supervising outside counsel where necessary
Provide practical and timely legal and business advice to HR and other business leaders on various employment matters and initiatives to effectively minimize and mitigate legal risk
Partner with external counsel and internal teams to support and advise on immigration matters, including individual visa sponsorship cases as well as overall company immigration policy
Review and negotiation of commercial agreements on occasion, and regularly serve as subject-matter expert with respect to employment-related contract terms
Work in collaboration with other in-house attorneys located globally and outside counsel, demonstrating strong verbal and written communication skills and sound judgment
Handle additional projects as assigned, including work related to corporate and commercial legal matters
