Requirements

Candidates must be experts in reading and interpreting mechanical, electrical, and controls construction drawings and wiring diagrams, and provide feedback regarding field conditions versus drawings. Experience with Rockwell Automation Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) applications is a must, and experience with SCADA systems such as AVEVA WonderWare/System Platform and Ignition is a plus. A firm understanding of and ability to independently design complex Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring (EPMS) control system designs is required, along with the ability to use BACnet and Modbus for integration. Candidates must also lead detailed design of network architecture diagrams for BMS and EPMS, and lead and perform Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT). Strong customer service skills are also essential, including effective, positive, and proactive communication, adherence to customer site standards, professional conduct, excellent customer care, patience, attentiveness, responsiveness, follow-up, and honoring commitments.

Responsibilities

The Controls System Engineer will provide feedback regarding field conditions versus drawings and guide others in the company’s Quality Management System (QMS). They will independently design complex control systems, provide instrumentation specifications for complex control systems, and value engineer specifications for cost-effective solutions. The engineer will also provide on-site and remote support to field engineers during start-up and commissioning of mechanical and electrical systems. Responsibilities include demonstrating an understanding of customer needs and actively seeking to service those needs.
