Requirements

  • B.S. in electrical engineering, industrial engineering, mechatronics engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field
  • Proficiency in PLC and HMI programming/troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley)
  • Experience with drive systems (Allen-Bradley Power Flex), including parameter configuration and tuning
  • At least 5 years of experience in a plant manufacturing environment
  • Preferred
  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, TCP/IP, Modbus, Profibus, etc.)
  • Experience with process data collection, historian systems, and OEE/downtime tracking
  • Knowledge of battery grid/plate forming processes, curing operations, and material handling systems

Responsibilities

  • Program, optimize, and troubleshoot PLC and HMI systems to ensure stable equipment operation and consistent product quality
  • Provide real-time technical support to manufacturing and maintenance teams to resolve downtime events and equipment performance issues
  • Perform structured root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to improve equipment reliability and prevent recurrence
  • Modify, update, and maintain electrical and control system drawings (AutoCAD) to reflect as-built conditions in accordance with standard engineering practices
  • Lead verification of electrical and functional safety systems in support of equipment launches, process changes, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure equipment control logic meets environmental, quality, and safety compliance requirements specific to battery manufacturing operations (e.g., lead handling, ventilation, interlocks)
  • Maintain accurate backup and version control for PLC, HMI, drive, and automation system software
