Expertise in plant power and control systems administration and troubleshooting
Knowledge of local and national regulatory codes (NFPA 70, NFPA 70e, NFPA 79, OSHA 1910)
Ability to build and maintain systems for E&I skill development and technician coaching
Experience in developing power and control standards
Proficiency in MES data validation from PLC into Proficy and PLC data conditioning for analysis
Ownership of sustainability metering equipment (power monitors, usage flow meters) and energy reduction planning
Expertise in machine control and process automation (control strategies, HMI design, MES applications, KPI development)
Ability to identify losses and develop strategies in safety, quality, reliability, and cost
Knowledge of Key Elements for power/control systems (electrical safety like LOTO, PPE; Quality/CCP compliance like checkweighers, metal detectors)
Technical expertise in new equipment selection, installation/start-up, and training others on control systems
Responsibilities
Actively participate in Uncrustables Plant start-up, providing leadership on power/control systems, equipment specification, maintenance, operation, technician development, troubleshooting, and repair to meet reliability targets in Bakery or Sandwich Making department
Optimize systems, ensure compliance, personnel safety, and technician skill development for plant electrical power and process control systems
Serve as primary administrator and troubleshooter for plant power and control systems; key member of plant technical leadership
Build and maintain sustainable system for plant E&I skill development; coach area E&I Coordinator on skill assessment/development of technicians; work with site Controls Engineering Manager on onboarding/development for Process Engineers, Interns, and Area Leaders
Develop power and control standards with site Controls Engineering Manager and ensure their application in area of responsibility
Communicate and ensure technician compliance to regulatory codes; ensure equipment and safe practice compliance
Validate MES data from PLC into Proficy; support plant PEs in conditioning PLC data for effective analysis, including application development
Own validity and maintenance of site sustainability metering equipment; use power monitoring data to develop plans reducing consumption and costs
Provide expertise in design/implementation of machine control and process automation applications
Work with site Controls Engineering Manager, department management, and technicians to identify losses and develop plans/strategies to eliminate them in safety, quality, reliability, and cost
Own parts or whole Key Elements for power/control systems (e.g., electrical safety, Quality/CCP compliance)
Work closely with engineering/operations leaders on new equipment selection, installation/start-up; become technical expert and ensure training on control systems
