Requirements

Candidates should possess a minimum of two years of professional content development experience in middle school life science or high school biology, along with a minimum of two years of relevant teaching experience. They must demonstrate a proven ability to create high-impact learning content and possess a strong intuition for how students learn, including insight into common misconceptions.

Responsibilities

The Biology Content Creator will work with the content team to expand Khan Academy’s life science/biology offering by developing engaging hands-on activities, articles, and practice exercises, leveraging subject matter expertise and classroom experience to create rigorous and pedagogically sound content on schedule. They will design and develop 3D, NGSS-aligned middle school activities, apply knowledge of andragogy to create activity teacher guides, design and develop new middle and high school standards-aligned articles and practice exercises, learn and use the content management system, act as an editorial expert by reviewing the work of other content creators, and contribute to the long-term strategic direction of Khan Academy’s content efforts by improving processes and advocating for learners.
