Requirements
- Ability to use light equipment, such as forklift and pallet-jack
- Basic knowledge of computer operations to properly operate handheld scanners
- Skilled using hand and shop tools
- Demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail
- Must be able to prioritize, stay focused and handle multiple, diverse responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Reviews, signs, and processes incoming manifests, noting any discrepancies
- Directs off-loading operations for receipt of primarily non-bulk containers into the facility’s storage systems for process and handling
- Uses handheld bar code scanner as the primary internal recordkeeping system to ensure the safe, effective handling and inventory of containerized wastes
- Performs forklift operations to facilitate the handling of all non-bulk containerized wastes
- Collects and analyzes waste samples
- Consolidates like-wastes wherever possible in order to improve economic outcomes
- Stores waste containers properly in all designated plant storage areas
- Assists in the generation of internal bar code labels, and accurately places them on all containers as they are received
- Performs other related duties as assigned
