Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Accounting, or Business Administration (or equivalent)
  • Strong financial and analytical skills, including the ability to interpret financial statements
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial statement analysis, acquired through formal education and relevant work experience
  • Familiarity with Moody’s Credit Lens or similar credit spreading tools
  • Solid grasp of operational, credit, and business risk frameworks
  • Familiarity with lending products like lines of credit, term loans, etc
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey financial analysis in a clear and concise manner
  • Capability to review peer work and coach junior team members
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and other analytical tools
  • 24 months as Associate Consultant
  • 6 to 8 years of experience in banking, credit analysis, or a related financial analysis function
  • Additional certifications, CFA Level 1 or 2, FRM, or any equivalent qualification will be an added advantage

Responsibilities

  • Analyze the individuals/entities' financials/annual reports, quarterly statements, tax returns and other supporting financial data to determine their financial position and creditworthiness
  • Perform credit analysis of large or key clients that require thorough understanding of credit
  • Evaluate and underwrite credit requests across disciplines including personal, commercial, not for profit and commercial real estate
  • Partner with Bankers, Relationship Managers and other internal clients through financial/credit analysis and identification of risk factors. Adds value to ultimate client relationship by providing timely response and quality underwriting in coordination with client needs
  • Perform quality check of the spreads / reports completed by the junior analysts and ensure they are as per the guidelines
  • Leverage his or her experience to suggest and implement process improvements
  • Work on special projects and other projects as identified by the division management
  • Develop subject matter expertise, provide guidance and act as mentors to junior analysts
  • Perform complex activities with significant financial, client, and/or internal business impact
  • Manage complex credit analysis assignments, mentor junior analysts, and ensure the accuracy and quality of credit spreads
  • Collaborate with relationship managers and internal stakeholders to structure credit facilities that align with the clients’ wealth management goals while adhering to Northern Trust’s risk management
