Candidates should possess a Ph.D. in a related field such as computer vision, machine learning, multimedia, signal processing, imaging science, or applied mathematics, along with knowledge and experience in computer vision, machine learning, deep learning (PyTorch, Tensorflow, etc.), and remote sensing. Proficiency in Python or C/C++ is required, and due to contractual restrictions, only US Citizens will be considered for this position.
The Computer Vision Research Intern will explore their own ideas to address challenging real-world computer vision problems, potentially publishing the results in academic papers, and contribute high-quality software to the KWIVER platform. They will also work with algorithms such as object detection, change detection, scene classification, event/activity recognition, 3D reconstruction, video/image understanding, video/image search, and indexing, utilizing data from images and videos from various sources, and working with deep learning libraries and infrastructure including cloud-based frameworks and GPUs. They will be part of Kitware’s mission of positive social impact through work in areas such as environmental monitoring, national and global security, and ethical AI.
