Key Responsibilities

Compliance Management and Problem Solving

  • Ensure all activities align with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Monitor and interpret changes in regulations, determining their impact on operations.
  • Develop and implement import compliance policies and procedures.
  • Quickly identify and resolve compliance issues, mitigating risks to the company.
  • Adapt to changing regulations and business needs effectively.
  • Demonstrate strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.

Regulatory Expertise

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of global regulations and standards.
  • Provide guidance and support to internal teams on compliance matters.
  • Monitor and interpret changing regulations.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities as needed.
  • Collaborate with other agencies to successfully implement compliance solutions.

Data Management

  • Collect, analyze, and manage data.
  • Maintain detailed records of compliance activities and documentation.
  • Apply data management tools to track and report compliance metrics.
  • Ability to analyze large data sets and present findings to senior management.

Independent Work

  • Operate autonomously, leading multiple tasks and projects.
  • Prioritize and complete tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless compliance integration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Business, Law, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in compliance, with a focus on import compliance.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of import regulations and compliance procedures.
  • Proficiency in data management and analysis tools.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability.
  • Strong communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in trade compliance (e.g., Certified Compliance Specialist).
  • Experience with trade compliance software and tools.
  • Advanced degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Licensed Customs Broker preferred.
