Requirements

  • Previous Accident & Health or Personal Accident claims experience
  • Policy language skills enabling accurate and consistent policy wording interpretation
  • A basic knowledge of legal/regulatory and litigation procedural requirements
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Time management – ability to handle multiple priorities, organize work, and meet deadlines
  • Attention to detail and the ability to problem solve
  • Strong customer service and negotiating skills

Responsibilities

  • Handle and investigate all complex claims allocated in accordance with agreed internal service levels, best practice requirements, and against policy conditions
  • Develop and maintain technical and soft skills to enable accurate assessment and reserving of complex claims
  • Promote compliance with best practice for all aspects of claims assessment within personal accident, adhering to specific procedures and processes
  • Actively promote and demonstrate the principles of Treating Customers Fairly in claims handling, reinforcing the FCA and internal Complaints procedures
  • Proactively identify and review suspect/fraudulent claims using key fraud indicators
