The Cobol Engineer requires at least 10 years of experience working in Cobol Mainframe applications, including significant experience with IMS, DB2, VSAM, CICS, MQ, Jes2, JCL, TSO, and IBM and CA utility programs. They should possess tenacity to dive into problems and iterate in working code, familiarity with mainframe system interactions through messaging platforms, and an understanding of CICS processing and flow. Excellent attention to detail around user experience and code cleanliness, along with excellent written and real-time communication skills, is also required.
The Cobol Engineer will work with fellow Nava engineers and designers to design, review, and build web services, collaborate with government clients to invent, implement, and deploy new systems and improvements, develop prototypes for citizen-facing services, iterate on existing prototypes and applications, and work with other vendors and multiple government agencies.
