Requirements

  • Must reside in the United States
  • Applicants with previous agricultural or production experience preferred
  • Willing to shower, change clothing and footwear before entering the biosecure facility
  • No jewelry except medical ID; body piercings covered by clothing
  • Willing to sign agreement to avoid avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.)
  • Willing to sign and abide by Company Biosecurity and Animal Welfare Guidelines
  • Able to lift/move 50 lbs. using safe techniques
  • Able to push/pull 500-1000 lbs
  • Able to perform overhead lifting
  • Able to work on wet and slippery surfaces daily
  • Able to stand majority of shift on concrete floor; walk; sit; use hands to finger/handle/feel; reach with hands/arms; balance; stoop; bend over; talk/hear
  • Specific vision: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, adjust focus
  • Willing to work in hot, dry, dusty, wet, cold environments
  • Willing to use PPE: safety glasses, goggles, face shield, chemical gloves, waterproof apron, rubber boots when handling chemicals; ear plugs/earmuffs

Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize hatchers and setters (50%)
  • Clean and sanitize all hatchery equipment using high-pressure and regular water hose (30%)
  • Monitor and record temperatures in hatchers and setters (5%)
  • Maintain foot pans and hand sanitizers
  • Operate macerator
  • Operate tray washer
  • Tray and set eggs
  • Pull chicks
  • Operate chick counter
  • Pack or unpack eggs
  • Maintain clean and organized work area
