  • Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid contact with any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.)
  • Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines
  • Comply with biosecurity protocols: showering, changing clothing and footwear before entering the facility; no jewelry except medical ID; body piercings covered by appropriate clothing

Responsibilities

  • Pick up and deliver eggs from chicken houses to egg facility (20%)
  • Observe eggs moving on conveyor through sanitizer; observe shell color/texture and external characteristics such as streaks, shadings, discolorations, cracks (10%)
  • Place hatching eggs in buggies and boxes and properly label both for internal/external orders (30%)
  • Properly perform egg inventory practices and record daily inventory transactions into Excel spreadsheet (10%)
  • Perform sanitation activities: operate and clean egg sanitizer; remove waste (egg shells, feathers, feces, etc.); clean and sanitize egg room, connecting areas, crates and flats, and vehicles (20%)
  • Other duties: place broken, dirty or other substandard eggs in container for disposal; monitor, control, and record proper egg room temperatures and humidity controls; perform simple math as part of computing chemical concentration of egg sanitizer; properly euthanize weak/ill birds in accordance with company policy (10%)
