Requirements

  • Doctorate (PhD or PsyD) in Psychology
  • Active Psychologist license in the state of practice (Upon Hire)
  • 2 years post-doctorate training and/or equivalent experience in Clinical Neuropsychology
  • Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds
  • Preferred: Board certification or board eligible in Psychologist - Licensing Board (Upon Hire)
  • Preferred: Lifespan (children through geriatric) experience

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate a clinical treatment program for the diagnosis, treatment, or referral of clients/patients
  • Adhere to policies assuring confidentiality of client communications
  • Assist in a multi-disciplinary, holistic approach to client treatment, coordinating with hospital departments
  • Conduct neuropsychological testing in accordance with State Board of Examiners of Psychologists and American Psychological Association principles
  • Assess client/patient progress and modify or extend treatment programs accordingly
  • Coordinate care with referring physicians or agencies
  • Document assessments, testing, and therapy in medical records per hospital policies
  • Communicate with family members/significant others to enhance treatment effectiveness
  • Provide educational programs on psychological/neuropsychological topics to hospital/community groups
  • Administer and interpret neuropsychological assessments, testing instruments, and outcomes
  • Provide consultation and neuropsychological assessments for hospital Medical Specialty groups/departments
  • Provide clinical supervision and training to psychometrists/technicians
  • Supervise interns and students, communicate with universities/colleges, and assist with staff/student training/orientation
  • Maintain accurate and concise records, documenting promptly all groups and pertinent data
  • Maintain productive use of time
  • Assist with analysis and collection of data for Performance Improvement
  • Interview, hire, develop, train, and retain employees; plan, assign, and lead work; appraise performance; reward and coach employees; address complaints and resolve problems
