Requirements

  • Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) - L certification
  • Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others
  • Ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds
  • Ability to work 72-80 hours every 2 weeks (full-time schedule)

Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance to residents with activities of daily living (e.g., bathing, dressing, shaving, oral hygiene, bed making, transfers, repositioning, toileting, serving/collecting food trays, feeding, answering call lights)
  • Ensure a clean environment, transport patients upon admission/dismissal, assist with ambulation, and orient/reorient residents to the facility for safety
  • Perform and document vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration, weight)
  • Assist residents with specific medical care activities per policy/procedure (e.g., restorative exercises, collecting specimens, assessing/documenting cares)
  • Provide feedback to nursing staff on resident status changes, pain management, and concerns
  • Restock supplies, maintain work environment, and perform cleaning procedures
  • Participate in providing emotional, educational, and spiritual support for families
  • Comply with resident rights (confidentiality, privacy) and report allegations of abuse or misappropriation
  • Follow policies/procedures for fire, tornado, evacuation, disaster plans, universal precautions, infection control, and hazardous/chemical communication
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents, families, and staff
