Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) - Licensing Board in the state of practice within 120 Days
High School or GED Equivalent (preferred)
Less than 1 year related experience or training (preferred)
Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds
Ability to work rotating days/evenings/nights/weekends/holidays (72hrs/2wks)

Responsibilities

Provides assistance to residents with activities of daily living (e.g., bathing, dressing, shaving, oral hygiene, bed making, transfers, repositioning, toileting, serving/collecting food trays, feeding, answering call lights, maintaining clean environment, transporting, ambulation, orienting/reorienting)
Performs routine and non-routine duties as directed by nursing staff
Performs vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration) and weight measurements; documents concise and factual information
Assists residents with specific medical care activities per policy/procedure (e.g., restorative exercises, collecting specimens, assessing/documenting cares); provides immediate feedback to nursing staff on status changes, pain, concerns
Assists with restocking supplies, maintaining clean/safe work environment, and cleaning procedures
Participates in providing emotional, educational, and spiritual support for families
Complies with resident rights (confidentiality, privacy); reports allegations of abuse or misappropriation
Follows policies/procedures for fire, tornado, evacuation, disaster, universal precautions, infection control, hazardous/chemical communication
Maintains a clean and safe environment for residents, families, and staff
Commits to Avera’s mission, vision, core values, and social principles
