Requirements

  • Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) - Licensing Board in the state of practice within 120 Days
  • High School or GED Equivalent (preferred)
  • Less than 1 year Related experience or training (preferred)
  • Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds
  • Ability to work specified hours: 5:45am-6:15pm; 48hrs/2wks, every third weekend and holiday

Responsibilities

  • Provides assistance to residents with their activities of daily living (e.g., bathing, dressing, shaving, oral hygiene, bed making, transfers, repositioning, toileting, serving/collecting food trays, feeding, answering call lights, maintaining clean environment, transporting, ambulation, orienting/reorienting)
  • Performs routine and non-routine duties as directed by nursing staff
  • Performs blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration and weight measurements; documents concise and factual information
  • Performs or assists with specific medical care activities per policy/procedure (e.g., restorative exercises, collecting specimens, assessing/documenting cares); provides feedback to nursing staff on patient status changes, pain, concerns
  • Assists with restocking supplies, maintaining work environment, and cleaning procedures
  • Participates in providing emotional, educational and spiritual support for families
  • Complies with resident rights (confidentiality, privacy); reports allegations of abuse or misappropriation
  • Follows policies/procedures for fire, tornado, evacuation, disaster, universal precautions, infection control, hazardous/chemical communication
  • Maintains a clean and safe environment for residents, families and staff
