Requirements

  • Valid Class A CDL with air brake and combination endorsement
  • Valid DOT Medical Examiners Certificate (or ability to obtain)
  • Experience transporting and operating landscaping or construction equipment (preferred)
  • Strong effective verbal and written communication and time management skills
  • Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Teams or other electronic scheduling boards
  • High school Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to lift/carry materials up to 50lbs on a regular and consistent basis
  • Ability to move about the worksite, including walking, standing, kneeling, bending, and lifting, up to 100% of a workday
  • Ability to perform seasonal snow and ice removal tasks during winter months (plowing, shoveling, salt applications, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Ensure clear communication with Warehouse Fleet Manager, Business and Project Managers, Supervisors, and others to support job efficiency
  • Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles including dump trucks, flatbeds, and various truck and trailer combinations on public roads, highways, parking lots, to transport landscaping materials and equipment
  • Load, secure, and transport landscaping materials such as mulch, soil, gravel, sod, trees, and plants to job sites
  • Deliver mowers, skid steers, excavators, and other landscaping machinery, ensuring proper tie-down and securement
  • Adhere to all DOT regulations, weight limits, and load securement standards for safe transit
  • Conduct and document daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections, checking fluid levels, tires, lights, and overall vehicle condition
  • Perform minor maintenance and servicing as needed, reporting major issues to Warehouse Fleet Manager
  • Ensure trucks, trailers, and equipment are clean, well-maintained, and organized
  • Assist landscaping crews with material handling, unloading, and distribution of materials at job sites as needed
  • Operate loaders, skid steers, or other landscape-related machinery when necessary
  • Maintain accurate delivery logs, fuel records, and required paperwork for DOT compliance and company billing
  • Ensure full adherence to company policies, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, with responsibilities and tasks subject to change as needed
