PhD/DVM degree in ruminant nutrition or related field
2–5 years’ industry and/or university experience
Proven track record of successfully recommending solutions to cattle producers to support business growth
Located within the Nebraska/Wyoming territory (virtual/remote role)
Travel requirements approximately 30% overnight
Ability to lift and carry 50-pound bags of feed as needed
Demonstrated ability to quickly form strong working relationships
Enjoys and prefers working in the field with producers, sales specialists, and feed dealers
Willingness to support own dairy clientele to drive industry relevance and experience
Enjoys working with people, competing as a team, and helping all win (Purina, producers, dealers)
Self-motivated with excellent time management skills who plans for growth and opportunity
Computer skills, including ration balancing and Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.)
Strong leadership skills, customer focus, goal and action oriented
Strong presentation and communication skills with ability to present in a group setting to various audiences
Responsibilities
Work closely with Sales Professionals in providing education and solutions for producers
Work both individually and through Sales Professionals, helping dealers/co-op customers and prospects to mutually benefit by providing the right recommendations for nutrition and cattle management practices
Work directly with cattle producers, providing nutritional services within the territory
Be the lead in nutrition and education for the sales team and dealer group
Partner in organizing and conducting producer events that promote best practices for nutrition and management, including proof field trials to demonstrate the profitability of solutions utilizing Purina products
Serve as a key liaison with the industry
Communicate with the Purina technical team and research staff to lead innovative research and product development; both in the field and at the Purina Research Center in St. Louis, MO
Maintain a high level of proficiency and competency in nutrition, production management, and selling skills through recommended training and verified by documented sales results
Lead cattle nutritional support throughout Nebraska and Wyoming
Assist with or directly influence the growth of sales with current and prospective cattle producers through a consultative approach and education
Provide technical leadership to producers, Purina sales teams, and co-ops/dealers in the territory
Perform other duties and assume other responsibilities as assigned or requested
