Requirements

  • Reside within a 50-mile radius of the Carthage, MS facility
  • 4 years of mechanic experience (must be shown on application)
  • Valid Mississippi driver’s license with no more than two moving violations in the last two years (no DUI convictions)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a company license
  • Basic computer skills
  • Advanced wiring skills for lights and harnesses on vehicles
  • Advanced welding skills
  • Ability to take road service calls as needed
  • Ability to service vehicles (PM1, PM2)
  • Ability to perform PM6 – DOT inspections
  • Ability to perform minor loader repairs
  • Ability to perform minor motor, transmission, and rear end repairs
  • Ability to perform major trailer repairs
  • Ability to work in cold, hot, and/or wet conditions
  • Willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Follow all Tyson policies and procedures, including Animal Welfare and Bio-Security guidelines
  • Flexible schedule (Monday-Friday 6am-3pm, subject to change; holiday and weekend work required)

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic, preventive, and repair maintenance on company heavy and light fleet vehicles
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Live Haul Manager
