Responsibilities

  • Oversee end-to-end procurement strategy and execution for primal raw materials, focusing on Beef and Pork segments
  • Manage supplier relationships, ensure high standards of quality and compliance, drive cost efficiency
  • Partner with merchants to align sourcing and supply with business objectives
  • Leverage data, technology, and continuous improvement to optimize procurement outcomes
  • Develop and maintain raw material standards and specifications for primal suppliers
  • Manage procurement process from supplier selection and contract negotiation to ongoing relationship management
  • Align with merchants on supplier options, costs, and volume requirements; oversee raw material forecasting, procurement, and inbound service levels
  • Monitor and report on quality KPIs; lead supplier compliance and performance management (audits, specification management, cost analysis, tenders, performance tracking via software)
  • Drive supplier performance to meet standards, costs, volumes, and service levels
  • Manage cut pattern for products supplied to stores; protect product quality, enforce food safety, ensure compliance with laws and Walmart policies on meat labeling and processing
  • Troubleshoot store issues related to product quality, labeling, and supply
  • Evaluate effectiveness of plans and initiatives, consult stakeholders, apply suggestions for efficiency and cost-effectiveness
  • Participate in and support community outreach events
