Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience supervising a café or quick service operation
  • Experience and knowledge in coffee/food production and BOH management
  • Excellent communication and team leadership skills
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills and ability to stay calm and focused under pressure
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to stand, bend, reach and be mobile for up to 4-6 hours
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs
  • Ability to operate a commercial espresso machine
  • Food Handlers License and Serv-Safe Certification (a plus)

Responsibilities

  • Oversees daily operations to ensure standards for guest service, employee practices, operational efficiency, and health and safety
  • Collaborates with the Caffe Manager to manage and monitor standard operating procedures
  • Leads by example to motivate and train Caffe Team Members
  • Manages labor, costs, inventory, regulatory compliance, pricing, and merchandising to optimize operational performance
  • Collaborates with other team members and fulfills duties across all sections of the Caffe, including back-of-house and front-of-house
  • Masters product knowledge and storytelling to answer questions about menu and products, offering guidance on allergens and ingredients
  • Maintains standards of guest service with a hospitable and professional demeanor during all business volumes
  • Ensures the Caffe remains clean, organized, and neat in guest and employee areas through assigned cleaning duties (e.g., bathroom checks, table maintenance, washing dishes and equipment, cleaning prep and service stations, stocking areas)
  • Receives retail and product orders; unloads, organizes, and stocks deliveries; records information; communicates shortages, discrepancies, and expired or damaged products
  • Sets up stations and replenishes displays neatly, including separation of allergens (nuts, wheat, etc.)
  • Assists the Caffe Manager with shift administration, including opening and closing duties
  • Operates the Point of Sales (POS) system ensuring accuracy of cash drops and authenticity of bills
  • Actively trains Caffe team members in collaboration with the Store Manager and other Caffe teams
  • Represents the store to the community and guests
  • Performs other duties as assigned
