Requirements

Minimum of 6 months' work experience required in facility maintenance and/or automotive mechanic experience preferred (must be documented in work history)
Good mechanic background required
General knowledge of vehicle maintenance including preventative and scheduled maintenance
Good plumbing skills
General knowledge of electrical and lighting
Clean driver's license with the ability to obtain a CDL
Ability to carry out essential duties and responsibilities efficiently, within safety guidelines
Ability to operate all rolling stock efficiently, within safety guidelines
Ability to efficiently use hand tools and trades type tools to provide maintenance of facility as required
Willingness to work overtime and be called into work for emergency situations as required
Ability to read, write, and comprehend the English language to maintain records and communicate well
Physical ability to stand/walk continuously; lift/carry frequently (1-10 lbs) and occasionally (up to 35-50 lbs); frequently bend/stoop, squat, crawl, climb, reach above shoulder, crouch, kneel, push/pull, grasp; continuously work around moving machinery, in areas with temperature/humidity changes, exposure to dust/fumes, occasionally at unprotected heights, around dead birds and strong chicken odor

Responsibilities

General repair and maintenance of building, forklifts, pallet jacks, company vehicles, and all other equipment or buildings owned by the company
Maintain company grounds inclusive of snow/ice removal, lawn work
Maintenance and safe operation of all company rolling stock; back-up Shag Driver and Certified Fork Lift Operator
Repair and replacement of facility lighting
Repair of facility plumbing needs
Back-up Waste Water Treatment Plant operator
Trash removal from the facility
Maintain the cleanliness of the truck sheds, loafing shed, and maintenance shop
Sweeping of the parking lot
Maintain the bone yard and inventory if needed
Assist with roof repairs and clean-up
All other essential duties as directed by the maintenance manager
