Position Overview

Dane Street is seeking physicians to join our expanding panel for telework opportunities providing supplemental income. As an Independent Contract Reviewer, you will be responsible for reviewing disability claims and utilizing your clinical expertise to provide interpretations of medical necessity. This is a flexible, remote position where you can customize your caseload to fit your schedule.

Requirements

• California State Medical License: Required.
• Board Certification: Required in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
• Active Practice: Required.
• Clinical Expertise: Ability to utilize clinical expertise to review disability claims.
• Policy Adherence: Provide interpretations of medical necessity in compliance with client-specific policies, nationally recognized evidence-based guidelines, and standards of care.
• Record Review: Review all medical records and address client-specific questions.
• Rationale Clarity: Ensure the rationale for determinations is clear, concise, and well-supported.
• Criteria Utilization: Critically identify and utilize current criteria and resources (national, state, professional association guidelines, peer-reviewed literature) to support objective decision-making. Avoid using case studies or cohorts for decision-making due to limited sample sizes.
• Criteria Provision: Provide copies of any criteria utilized in a review with the report in a timely manner.
• Timeliness: Return cases on or before the due date and time.
• Mandated Calls: Make telephone calls as mandated by state and/or client specifics.
• Credentialing: Maintain proper credentialing, state licenses, and any necessary special certifications or requirements.
• Training: Attend all required orientation and training.
• Additional Duties: Perform other assigned duties, including identifying and responding to quality assurance issues, complaints, regulatory issues, depositions, court appearances, or audits.
