Requirements

  • Active Washington medical license (licensure reimbursement options available)
  • Board certification in Orthopedic Surgery
  • Active clinical practice is required (recently retired is acceptable)
  • Review medical records and conduct physical exams
  • Address clinical questions related to diagnosis and care
  • Prepare detailed, timely reports using the AMA Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment, Sixth Edition
  • Return completed cases with a 14 day turnaround time
  • Participate in peer-to-peer calls when needed to clarify records or obtain additional information
  • Provide report addendums, clarify findings, and address quality or regulatory concerns (with additional compensation as applicable)

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-person IMEs at Bellevue, Tacoma, or Everett clinics (with plans to expand)
  • Complete reports using the AMA Guides to Fifth Edition, Sixth Edition optional, and the Medical Examiner’s Handbook published by the state of Washington
  • Meet 14-day turnaround time required from in-person examination
