Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • Equivalent military education
  • Participant in the formal GEHC Biomed/FE Services Internship or Military Externship program
  • High School Diploma/GED and 2+ years of experience servicing electrical, electronics, IT or mechanical equipment
  • Analytical and communication skills
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and perform physical tasks
  • Willingness to be available after hours or work a rotating On-Call schedule

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate basic customer biomedical equipment issues
  • Implement appropriate repairs
  • Perform PM and safety/environmental inspections as assigned
  • Assist experienced technicians on repairs/resolution
  • Communicate and partner with teammates and colleagues
  • Follow GE policies, procedures, and hospital protocol
  • Complete necessary documentation
  • Maintain daily communications with customers
  • Implement GE/customer facility contract as instructed
  • Provide efficient service delivery to all accounts
  • Share on-call responsibility when trained
  • Document repair actions and submit reports/summaries
  • Ensure proper care of spares, tools, and test equipment
  • Enhance and maintain technical knowledge
  • Understand and utilize sources of help to answer questions
  • Meet Health and Human Services, Environment Health and Safety requirements
