Requirements

The Big Data Engineer requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, along with 2-3 years of relevant software engineering experience. Strong fundamentals in back-end object-oriented programming, particularly in Python and Big Data technologies, are essential, as is experience with an agile software development lifecycle. Excellent English communication skills are needed for effective interaction with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, and familiarity with integrating RESTful APIs and microservices architecture is desirable.

Responsibilities

As a Big Data Engineer, the candidate will write complex, maintainable code to develop scalable and user-friendly applications using Python and technologies like Databricks, Snowflake, Dask, Pandas, Spark data frames, and Apache Airflow. They will also develop highly available, high-performance, cloud-native applications leveraging multiple data sources and creating efficient data access RESTful APIs against relational and NoSQL databases. The role involves working with Jira and SCRUM agile methodology, collaborating with stakeholders globally, and utilizing CI/CD with GitHub actions.
