Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required
Associate degree in social services, healthcare administration, or related field preferred
Two years of experience in benefits advocacy, Medicaid enrollment, healthcare access, or a related role
Experience working with diverse populations in healthcare, social services, or community-based settings strongly preferred
Successful completion of background check including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect, and fingerprint check
Completion of New Hire Orientation at the beginning of employment
Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance
Physical ability to perform sedentary work: exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, sitting most of the time with occasional walking or standing

Responsibilities

Educate clients about Medicaid benefits, coverage options, and enrollment responsibilities
Assist eligible clients by completing and submitting initial benefit applications
Monitor application status and follow up with the Family Support Division (FSD) to ensure timely processing of benefits
Review Medicaid Reauthorization Reports and schedule client appointments for renewals
Ensure accurate and timely submission of required documentation to the Family Support Division
Coordinate the Medicaid application process with direct care staff to ensure accuracy
Regularly check Medicaid status for assigned clients and report lapsed coverage as directed
Act as a liaison between clients, staff, and the Family Support Division to resolve questions or concerns
Stay informed on Medicaid regulations, policies, and guidelines to ensure compliance
Perform all other duties as assigned
