Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate degree in social services, healthcare administration, or related field preferred
  • Two years of experience in benefits advocacy, Medicaid enrollment, healthcare access, or a related role
  • Experience working with diverse populations in healthcare, social services, or community-based settings strongly preferred
  • Successful completion of background check including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect, and fingerprint check
  • Completion of New Hire Orientation at the beginning of employment
  • Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance
  • Physical ability to perform sedentary work: exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, sitting most of the time with occasional walking or standing

Responsibilities

  • Educate clients about Medicaid benefits, coverage options, and enrollment responsibilities
  • Assist eligible clients by completing and submitting initial benefit applications
  • Monitor application status and follow up with the Family Support Division (FSD) to ensure timely processing of benefits
  • Review Medicaid Reauthorization Reports and schedule client appointments for renewals
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of required documentation to the Family Support Division
  • Coordinate the Medicaid application process with direct care staff to ensure accuracy
  • Regularly check Medicaid status for assigned clients and report lapsed coverage as directed
  • Act as a liaison between clients, staff, and the Family Support Division to resolve questions or concerns
  • Stay informed on Medicaid regulations, policies, and guidelines to ensure compliance
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
