Requirements
Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Psychology, Social Work, or Counseling, and have experience working with adolescents and individuals with behavioral challenges. Strong understanding of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) principles and DBT techniques is essential, along with the ability to assess behavior and develop individualized treatment plans.
Responsibilities
The Behavioral Specialist will provide cognitive behavioral and other therapeutic services to patients, participating in supervision sessions and communicating regularly on patient progress. They will monitor the effectiveness of interventions, make necessary adjustments, and document mental health services according to regulations. The Behavioral Specialist will also participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings, offer training support to other direct care team members, and provide parent or support person training on CBT interventions and behavioral treatment plans, while ensuring patient safety and supporting changes in staffing as needed.
