  • Baccalaureate degree (inferred from "Bac" in Required Education)
  • Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds
  • Ability to work rotating days/evenings/nights/weekends/holidays (48hrs/2wks)
  • Passion for working with children (ages 5-12) and adolescents (ages 13-17) and their families
  • Interest in helping patients with conditions such as addiction, anxiety disorders, ADHD, depression, or suicidal behavior
  • Ability to work in an active, challenging care environment requiring critical thinking
  • Motivation to deliver high-quality patient care in a team environment

Responsibilities

  • Provides physical and psychological care to patients under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse
  • Assumes responsibility and accountability for individual actions and outcomes of patient care delivered
  • Works with individual patients in a 1-on-1 setting or in a group setting consistent with nursing care needs and inter-disciplinary treatment plan
  • Participates in daily inter-disciplinary treatment team meetings, providing input on patient behaviors and interactions
  • Implements suicide precautions as needed
  • Assesses changes in patient’s condition/behavior and notifies RN
  • Assists with patient and family programs, ensuring safety and welfare of all participants
  • Assists with activities of daily living care, including vital signs, collection of specimens, and other general nursing care procedures
  • Assesses individual patient needs, provides input for creating/modifying nursing care plans, and assists with implementing therapeutic activities
  • Maintains accurate and concise records, documenting promptly all pertinent information in the patient’s EMR
  • Assesses impending agitation and escalation of behavioral changes and participates in behavioral management
  • Researches, plans, and implements updating and development of new therapeutic patient groups with oversight from the Programming Committee
