Responsibilities

  • Well-versed with all 4 Cs of Underwriting (Asset, Income, Credit & Collateral)
  • Evaluate loan applications submitted by borrowers, including reviewing credit histories, income documentation, and employment history
  • Assess risk associated with each mortgage application, considering factors such as borrower’s credit score, debt-to-income ratio, loan-to-value ratio, and property appraisal
  • Perform quality control checks on approved loans to ensure accuracy and compliance with underwriting guidelines and regulations
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and underwriting guidelines to maintain expertise and ensure compliance
  • Effectively communicate underwriting decisions with processors and advisors
